#GivingTuesday – Here are the Details

WHAT IS #GIVINGTUESDAY?

We have a day for giving thanks. We have two for getting deals. Now, we have #GivingTuesday, a global day dedicated to giving back. On Tuesday, December 2, 2014, charities, families, businesses, community centers, and students around the world will come together for one common purpose: to celebrate generosity and to give.

You know people and businesses that are looking for something to give towards.  With over 18,000 non-profits that are registered at GivingTuesday.org it is hard for people to pick.  Let your friends know about MANNA.

It’s a simple idea. Just find a way for your family, your community, your company or your organization to come together to give something more. Then tell everyone you can about how you are giving. Join us and be a part of a global celebration of a new tradition of generosity.

A Summer Looking Back

It is officially September and summer is over.  The kids are back and school, and football is back on the field.  I love the fall, and cooler weather.  It is hard to believe how quickly the summer went.  How was your summer?  I know ours was amazing and blessed.

As a family, we flew over 60,000 airline miles and spent time on 3 continents.  I want to thank everyone for their support of our mission work.  It is because of your support that we were able to to travel to Thailand, Romania, and Guatemala and minister to hundreds of people around the world.  Whatever impact we may have had in their lives it was directly because of your support and you enabling us to do this full-time on your behalf.

It is an honor to partner with you as we reach this world together.  Here is a video I put together with pictures from our travels this summer.  I wanted you to see what you were a part of.

Romania Video

Last week I sent out the KDKR radio interview of my trip to Romania.  This week I wanted to send out a quick video that was done about the trip.  We had an intern, Austin Crow, join us on the trip and take photos and video footage.  He put together a video (less than 2 minutes) to illustrate what MANNA is doing in countries like Romania and why we are doing it.  I hope the video blesses you like the trip blessed me.  He did a great job with the video.  Click on the link below to watch it.

As an FYI, if the HD symbol in the bottom right hand of the video is not an aqua/blue color, then you can click it to watch the video in high def.

Survey Says…

So, how many people can you fit into a 12 person passenger van?  Well, in the case of MaeSot, Thailand…51!  Congratulations to Eric Ginther and Ross Jones for getting it correct.  I did not clarify if it was total people or just kids.  My fault.  So, they were able to correctly guess the number of kids.

In case you didn’t see the video, you can watch it here:

I received a lot of feedback from people, but one of the best emails I got back was this response.  “That is amazing!!  But, you know what’s even more amazing to me? How HAPPY they all seem to be even after being so crowded.”

How very true. I guess the real question is, how many Americans can we fit in a van before we get the first complaint?   I am reminded all of the time on trips of how many things I take for granted in this great country.  We are blessed and it is a great privilege and honor for our family to serve people around the world.

I pray the Lord blesses each of you for your support.
